He has written several articles on nursing and three books on the Biology of Nursing (Clinical Observations; Mental Health; Cancer) which have all been published by Routledge (see "publications 1" on the left).

He found and excavated the world's second known Polacanthus foxi skeleton on the Isle of Wight, and this is one of four dinosaur skeletons he has found in England (see "Fossils" on the left). He has wriiten a number of scientific papers on dinosaurs published in various academic journals and has named two new dinosaur species (see "publications 2" on the left).

William writes music as a hobby. His first symphony was performed at a public concert in 1976, played by the Sidcup Symphony Orchestra, conductor Anthony Randall, and it won the Bexley Arts Festival Trophy. The second symphony was completed in 2004, and the third symphony was completed during the Autumn of 2005. The fourth symphony was completed in early 2006 and a fifth symphony is now underway (2006)(see "symphonies" on the left).

Click on any of the symphonies 3, 4, 5 or 6 and wait for a minute or so for the music to load. Make sure your sound system is turned on and you should hear a movement from that symphony. These are recordings made from computer playback, not an orchestra. These scores have not been performed.

Shades of Silver, an orchestral suite by William Blows, received its World Premier by the Sidcup Symphony Orchestra on November 11th 2006. Click on "shades" (left hand column) for more details.
